Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation
Ready to Run™ Louisiana
New dates are forthcoming.
The Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by the women legislators of Louisiana, is committed to developing and equipping the next generation of women leaders in Louisiana. The Foundation launched a new initiative, Ready to Run™ Louisiana, in partnership with Rutgers University's Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP). Ready to Run™ is a non-partisan campaign training program created by CAWP to encourage women to run for elective office, position them for appointive office, work on a campaign, or get involved in public life in other ways. The Foundation is working in collaboration with CAWP, LSU's Office of Diversity Women's Center and Tulane University's Newcomb College to bring this initiative to fruition.
The first training dates are forthcoming. The location is pending.
The training will commence with a Louisiana Women of Power Reception on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. During this event, the class of the Ready to Run Louisiana initiative will be introduced, along with members of the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus, the sponsors of the event and the women "movers and shakers" of Louisiana.
On the next day at 8:30 a.m., the program will continue with training for the participants. Two program tracks will be offered and have been specifically tailored to the registrant's level of readiness.
- Track 1 will target those women who are immediately planning to run for office.
- Track 2 will target those women who may have an interest in running for office in the future.
A copy of the tentative agenda is forthcoming.
